If you’re a fan of white wine summer cocktails then you’re in luck, as this week Ideal Wine Company has decided to let you know how to make our top five!
White Wine Sangria
A classic summer stunner, all you need for this classic white wine cocktail is a bottle of dry white wine, 1 cup lemonade, ½ cup raspberry vodka, ¼ cup brandy, and some chopped berries for flavour.
To concoct it, just get a pitcher, mix the wine, lemonade, vodka and brandy. Then stir a handful of the copped berries into the bottom of a glass. After, stir the mixture into the glass and top with ice; voila!
White Wine Spritzer
This is probably the easiest white wine summer cocktail alive to make, and it tastes so good in the summer. Pick a bottle of your favourite white, lemonade, ice and some watermelon to garnish. To make, simply put some ice in a cocktail glass, add wine, stir in lemonade, garnish with the watermelon and serve.
Herb and White Wine Granita
A little trickier to make, the herb and white wine granita makes the perfect white wine summer cocktail/desert dish, and will go down a storm at a dinner party. All you’ll need is 250 mm water, 1/3 cup of sugar, a sprig of rosemary, a bottle of dry white wine and a splash of lemon juice for garnish.
Start by taking a sauce pan, adding the water, sugar and rosemary; stir and bring to the boil. Let it cool and then stir in wine and lemon juice. Place in the freezer for a minimum of three hours and stir often until it solidifies, then serve with a sprig of rosemary.
Peach and Honey White Wine Slushy
If you want to be really wild, throw all the rules out of the window with the daring peach and white wine slushy. To make this racy drink, you’ll need a cup of dry white wine, 2 table spoons of orange liqueur, 2 tablespoons of peach liqueur, 1 table spoon fresh orange juice, 1 table spoon fresh lime juice, 1 tablespoon honey and 2 cups frozen peaches.
It may sound complex, but it’s actually really easy to make. Mix the wine, liqueurs, juices, peaches and honey into a blender and blend until smooth, then pour and garnish with some lime or orange and there you are!
If you want to move away from the simple stuff and try something a little different, the Crimean cocktail is just the thing for you. Get a hold of some orange liqueur, lemonade, lemon juice, ice, and last, but most importantly, dry white wine.
Combine all the ingredients (except the ice) together by giving it a good shake in a cocktail shaker, fill the glass with ice and simply pour the mixture over the rocks!
